Women’s Leadership: A Journey of Strength and Transformation

On the occasion of the 16 Days Against GBV 2025, Sunita Foundation and WOFOWON (Women Forum for Women in Nepal) organized a residential leadership workshop- Women’s Leadership: A Journey of Strength and Transformation

For the survivors and women working in the entertainment and hospitality sector, this workshop became a space where they could share, connect and just learn about leadership, but feel it growing within themselves. Many participants shared that this was the first time they felt truly heard, seen, and supported without judgment.

One of the most inspiring moment was the session by Dr. Renu Adhikari, a pioneering women’s rights activist and our advisory member. Her words carried over three decades of struggle, hope, and fierce dedication, giving participants clarity, courage, and renewed belief in their own voice.

Throughout the workshop, the focus remained on what the women themselves needed- emotional safety, healing, and practical steps to lead from where they are. The self-care components such as DMT (Dance Movement Therapy), meditation, grounding practices, and self-acknowledgement activities helped participants reconnect with their bodies, release heaviness, and regain inner strength.

By the end, many women expressed feeling lighter, stronger, clearer, and more prepared to take leadership in their own lives.

This workshop became more than a program;

it became a healing and leadership journey where women rediscovered their power, their voice, and their possibilities.
