Sunita Foundation Joins the 33rd 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Sunita Foundation proudly participated in the 33rd 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign dedicated to ending violence against women and girls. This year’s theme, “Our Commitment: Solidarity to End Gender-Based Violence,” aligns with the milestone of “30 years of the Beijing Declaration: Unite to end violence against women.”
The campaign launched with a rally organized by the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens in collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and civil society groups. The march, starting at Maitighar and concluding at Bhrikuti Mandap, was a powerful demonstration of solidarity. Participants donned orange, symbolizing hope for a violence-free future, as they advocated for women's rights and the safety and dignity of all.
Through its active participation, Sunita Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness, combating gender-based violence, and advocating for change. A representative shared, “Ending gender-based violence requires solidarity, action, and sustained effort. Together, we can create a society where women and girls thrive in safety and dignity.”
This campaign underscores the need for united action to achieve gender equality and end violence. Sunita Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to inspire change and build a future free from fear, violence, and discrimination.
