A Journey of Awareness and Change: Reflect, Understand, and Awaken Together
As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Sunita Foundation, in collaboration with ECPAT Luxembourg and Stuti Creation Pvt. Ltd., conducted 15 impactful street drama performances across Makawanpur, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, and Kathmandu. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing risks of human trafficking, particularly due to the misuse of social media.
The performances, which took place at schools and community spaces, engaged over 3,800 participants, including students, teachers, local officials, and community members. Through powerful storytelling, the dramas highlighted critical issues such as the importance of legal documentation, social media caution, and the reintegration of trafficking survivors.
Despite challenges like traffic noise, road conditions, and the harvesting season, the campaign successfully reached a diverse audience, spreading an important message of vigilance and community responsibility. Sunita Foundation remains committed to tackling human trafficking and gender-based violence through such innovative outreach efforts, fostering greater awareness and action across Nepal.
