From Learning to Livelihood
For four days, women from "Women Empowerment Network" of Nuwakot gathered to learn candle-making. Alongside the skill training, psychosocial counseling support was also provided, creating a safe space for sharing, confidence-building, and the quiet rise of leadership among women by Dupcheswor Rural Municipality.
This network, formed bySunita Foundation, carries a clear purpose: women’s economic empowerment woven with personal transformation.
What makes this initiative even more meaningful is that the group has also been provided with a candle-making machine. The learning does not end with the training; it continues as practice, production, and income. The skills gained can now be turned into a sustainable source of livelihood for the women and their group.
Sunita Foundation is grateful to Dupcheswor Rural Municipality for seeing women’s empowerment as a journey, not just a program but one that plants the seeds of confidence, self-reliance, and dignity.
