Empowering Communities to Address Gender-Based Violence: A Program by Sunita Foundation

On November 29, 2024, Sunita Foundation successfully organized a program under the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The event, held in collaboration with Gokarneswor Municipality and supported by Womenkind Worldwide, focused on the theme "Empowerment through Advocacy: Addressing Gender-Based Violence." It took place at the Ward No. 06 meeting hall of Gokarneswor Municipality.

The program aimed to raise awareness about gender-based violence, its impact, and the need for collective action to achieve gender equality. Attendees included local government representatives, women’s groups, youth, and other stakeholders who actively participated in discussions and pledged to work toward creating a violence-free society.

Speaking at the event, Sunita Foundation's founder president, Sunita Danuwar, emphasized, "The fight against gender-based violence is a shared responsibility. Through community collaboration and sustained efforts, we can build a safe and equitable society for all."

Supported by Womenkind Worldwide, the program highlighted the significance of local-level partnerships in addressing gender-based violence. Sunita Foundation reiterated its commitment to organizing similar initiatives to empower communities and foster positive change.
